Position Details
- Location: Granite City, IL 62040
- School Year: 20262027
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- School Setting: Junior high school environment
- Student Population: Primarily 7th and 8th grade students
- Caseload: Shared caseload alongside another School Social Worker
- Student Support Areas: General education, special education, and one life skills classroom
Responsibilities:
- Provide social-emotional support and counseling services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Conduct assessments and maintain appropriate documentation
- Support behavior intervention strategies and crisis response when needed
- Help connect students and families with community resources and support services
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work required
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement required
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with middle school students across diverse educational settings
