Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid Michigan social work license (LMSW, LSW, LLMSW, or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Proficient in handling sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop interventions and support plans
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and make recommendations for appropriate services
- Serve as an advocate for students and help facilitate access to community resources
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute relevant social-emotional insights to support student learning
- Deliver crisis intervention and support as needed
- Promote a safe and inclusive school climate
