Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
  • Valid Michigan social work license (LMSW, LSW, LLMSW, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Proficient in handling sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop interventions and support plans
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and make recommendations for appropriate services
  • Serve as an advocate for students and help facilitate access to community resources
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute relevant social-emotional insights to support student learning
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Promote a safe and inclusive school climate
