Empower students to thrive by providing essential social work support in a dynamic middle school setting for grades 6-8. This long-term contract opportunity involves working with students in general education, as well as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate cognitive impairments. Your expertise will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels heard and supported.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker
• Experience supporting middle school students, especially grades 6-8
• Familiarity with ASD and moderate cognitive impairmentknowledge of best practices in special education
• Ability to collaborate easily with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside service providers
• Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in both one-on-one and group settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support to students in general and special education programs
• Develop and implement intervention strategies for students with differing needs, including those with ASD and moderate cognitive impairments
• Consult with teachers and staff to support classroom management and individual student plans
• Participate in IEP meetings and help monitor progress toward student goals
• Act as a liaison among families, school teams, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all guidelines
