Make an impact supporting students social and emotional needs in a rewarding, contract social work role serving school communities near Grand Rapids, MI. This opportunity offers two distinct positions: one working with K-12 students, and another focusing specifically on high school students. Both roles provide the chance to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in Michigan
• Experience or interest in working with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels (for K-12) or exclusively with high school students (for high school caseload)
• Deep understanding of social/emotional learning strategies, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
• Collaborative spirit and flexibility in supporting diverse student populations

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to students, including individual and group counseling
• Develop and implement intervention plans addressing academic, at-risk, and behavioral needs
• Partner with teachers and administrators to create inclusive environments that promote student wellbeing
• Engage families and offer resources to support student growth and success in and outside of school
• Maintain detailed documentation and participate in IEP or 504 plan development as needed
• Respond to crisis situations and provide guidance on appropriate responses and follow-up care
