Job Description

Empower young learners by supporting their social and emotional development in an engaging upper elementary setting. A contract opportunity is available for an experienced School Social Worker ready to make a positive difference for students in grades 4 and 5. This assignment runs from September 28, 2026, through December 18, 2026, with work hours from 8:15am to 3:45pm.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a School Social Worker is required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting school-aged children, preferably in elementary grades
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, including IEP processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to case manage and provide direct student support in a school setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect social work services to students in grades 4 and 5
  • Maintain and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including timely documentation and necessary initials
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings as a valued team member
  • Provide case management and counseling for a diverse caseload
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and other professionals to foster student success
  • Proactively support a safe, inclusive, and positive learning climate
