Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure or certification in school social work (MSW or equivalent)
- Experience working with students in elementary, middle, and/or high school settings
- Deep understanding of child and adolescent development, diverse backgrounds, and trauma-informed care
- Strong communication, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families
- Organizational expertise, with the capacity to manage caseloads and maintain accurate records
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students to address behavioral, social, and emotional needs
- Develop and implement intervention plans, collaborating closely with faculty, staff, and parents or guardians
- Conduct classroom observations and assessments to identify students in need of support
- Lead or participate in IEP meetings, 504 plans, and multidisciplinary teams
- Serve as a resource on mental health and wellness initiatives throughout the school community
- Connect students and families with necessary community resources and support services
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive school climate for all learners
