Make a meaningful impact by supporting high school students mental health and well-being as a Mental Health Specialist, working primarily with general education students. This contract opportunity focuses on one high school in the area, where you'll provide individual and group counseling, help implement positive behavior programs, and assist with professional learning in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver social-emotional and mental health counseling to general education students individually or in groups.
• Offer additional support to classrooms and school buildings as needed (e.g., professional learning for staff, implementing school-wide positive behavior support).
• Maintain detailed session documentation using SOAP notes and electronic record-keeping systems.
• Collaborate with educational staff and participate in school meetings to address student needs.
• Utilize Google applications efficiently for documentation, communication, and planning.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree is required; candidates without a master's degree will not be considered.
• Active LARA license in Michigan, such as:
  • Licensed or limited licensed masters level psychologist, under appropriate supervision
  • MDE credentialed masters level school psychologist
  • Licensed or limited licensed masters level social worker or school social worker
  • Licensed or limited licensed masters level marriage and family therapist
  • Licensed or limited licensed masters level professional counselor, under supervision if applicable
  • Michigan School Counselor License, Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement, PSCC, or TSCL (with LARA requirements completed within 24 months)
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and proficient using Google applications.
• Experience with high school age students and group or individual counseling preferred.
