This full-time contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year offers a chance to provide crucial support for students, families, and educational staff. Based near Fremont, MI, you'll collaborate within a dynamic environment, working 35 hours per week to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes the academic and social-emotional well-being of students.
Role Qualifications:
- Hold a Master's degree in Social Work.
- Current state licensure as a School Social Worker, or eligibility to obtain this credential.
- Experience working with school-aged children or adolescents in educational or clinical settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for building relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral support to students, including individual and group counseling.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans and support systems.
- Participate in IEP or 504 meetings, providing expertise on social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting student learning.
- Connect families with available community services and resources.
- Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all federal, state, and district policies and procedures.
- Advocate for student needs while promoting positive school climate initiatives.
