Job Description

A school social worker position is available for the 2026/2027 school year in Stillman Valley, Illinois. This role supports middle and high school students (6th-12th grade) with a caseload of approximately 35-40 students. The position operates on a contract basis and offers a structured weekly schedule with some flexibility: either 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work services to students within the school setting
  • Address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and community resources to support student success
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans
  • Facilitate student access to mental health and wellness services
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with policies

Qualifications:

  • Degree in social work or related field with appropriate licensure or certification for school social work
  • Experience working with middle and high school students
  • Understanding of student mental health, social challenges, and crisis intervention
  • Ability to manage a caseload of 35-40 students effectively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
