Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Active state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
- Experience delivering support services in elementary, middle, or high school environments
- Strong understanding of student development, crisis intervention, and school-based resources
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
- Familiarity with special education processes, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and Section 504 plans is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial student assessments and provide ongoing individual and group counseling
- Develop and implement strategies to address attendance, academic, behavioral, and social challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Facilitate referrals to external agencies and advocate for student access to community resources
- Participate in special education team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and comply with ethical and legal standards
- Support school-wide initiatives focused on mental health and positive school climate
