Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a School Social Worker. Situated close to Flint, MI, this onsite position offers the chance to work within a dynamic educational environment. You will help empower Special Education students through impactful interventions, working either in small/moderate group sessions or one-on-one settings. Depending on current school needs, your caseload may cover students from K12, or be focused on Elementary, Middle, or High School.
Qualifications and Credentials:
- Masters degree in Social Work
- Fully licensed and MDE certified as a School Social Worker (Michigan Department of Education)
- Holding either a Full Approval, Social Worker Certificate, or an SSW 310 credential letter (application in progress with MDE)
- Active MI State Social Worker license issued by LARA
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver social-emotional and behavioral supports through individual and group interventions with Special Education students
- Conduct assessments and develop plans tailored to student needs
- Work closely with staff, families, and support teams to promote student well-being and academic success
- Document and maintain records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Contribute to the development of inclusive, supportive school environments
