Job Description

This onsite contract opportunity in Flint, MI seeks a licensed School Social Worker to provide support within a K-12 school setting. Over a 35-hour workweek, the role focuses on intervention support for special education students through small or moderate group sessions, as well as individual support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intervention and counseling services to special education students across K-12 grades, with potential assignment at elementary (K-6), middle, or high school levels based on school needs.
  • Conduct 1:1 sessions and group work to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in referral and assessment processes as required.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in social work.
  • Fully licensed and certified by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) with a Full Approval, Social Worker Certificate, or SSW 310 credential and active application with MDE.
  • Hold a valid Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA.
  • Experience working with special education students in a school environment preferred.
