Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to provide essential social work services within a K-12 school environment in Flint, MI. The role focuses on supporting students with special education needs through targeted intervention support, delivered in both small group settings and one-on-one sessions. The position is onsite with a 35-hour workweek and runs for the full school year under a contract arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intervention services to special education students in small or moderate groups and through individualized support.
  • Manage a caseload that may include elementary (K-6), middle, or high school (7-12) students, based on school needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement social-emotional support plans.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work.
  • Full approval or Social Worker Certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), or possession of an SSW 310 credential letter with a completed application to MDE.
  • Valid Michigan State Social Worker license through the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in special education interventions, is preferred.
