This contract opportunity offers the chance to help K-12 special education students as a dedicated School Social Worker. Youll provide essential intervention support in small groups and one-on-one settings, adapting to the unique needs of different age groups from elementary to high school, depending on availability.

Key Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work required.
• Fully licensed and certified by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), with either Full Approval, a Social Worker Certificate, or an SSW 310 credential letter from a university (and having started the MDE application process).
• Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA.
• Experience working with children or adolescents, ideally in a school-based or special education setting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide onsite support, following school protocols and schedules.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver intervention support and counseling to special education students in both small group and individualized contexts.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to develop and implement student support plans.
• Conduct assessments, document progress, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed.
• Support students social, emotional, and behavioral growth within the school environment.
• Serve as an approachable resource for students requiring additional guidance or advocacy.
