Job Description

A School Social Worker position is available for the 2026-2027 school year in Evanston, IL. This contract role offers a full onsite schedule with 37.5 hours per week, serving a caseload of students from kindergarten through 5th grade. The ideal candidate will support the social and emotional well-being of young students within a school setting, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention for students K-5
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to address student needs
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Connect students and families with community resources and services
  • Maintain detailed and confidential case documentation
  • Promote student mental health and social skills development

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work onsite
