Make a positive impact as a dedicated School Social Worker supporting elementary students in a vibrant educational community near St. Charles, IL. This full-time, contract opportunity covers a leave assignment through November, offering a rewarding chance to engage with a diverse elementary caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
- Certification in School Social Work in Illinois
- Previous experience providing social work support in school settings strongly preferred
- Understanding of elementary-age developmental and behavioral needs
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to partner with teachers, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct counseling and crisis intervention for elementary students
- Conduct assessments and provide reports for IEP/504 meetings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention strategies
- Support positive student behavior and foster a safe, inclusive school climate
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and outside agencies as needed
- Maintain up-to-date, confidential documentation for student caseload
