Make a meaningful impact as a school social worker supporting elementary students across two engaging locations. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience within a dynamic educational environment, guiding young learners at both Kaneland McDole Elementary and Kaneland John Stewart Elementary. The position is onsite and runs from August 15th through October 3rd, with a consistent weekday schedule totaling 32.5 hours per week (8:00 am3:00 pm, duty-free lunch included).
Your primary focus will be working with four classrooms: two dedicated to students with Autism and two serving those with intellectual disabilities. Your expertise will help foster social, emotional, and behavioral growth, enhancing both academic achievement and overall well-being for the elementary school population.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with school social work endorsement
- Experience with elementary-age students preferred
- Strong background supporting students with Autism and intellectual disabilities is a plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Enthusiastic approach to working in a multi-disciplinary team setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver social-emotional support and counseling to students in assigned caseload
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement student support plans
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with all district/state regulations
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and related activities
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment within each classroom
