Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited institution
  • Licensure or certification to practice as a School Social Worker within Illinois
  • Previous experience supporting school-aged children in an educational or community setting
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and staff
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and social-emotional learning frameworks
  • Compassionate, culturally responsive, and flexible approach to service delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect social work services to elementary students, supporting their emotional and behavioral growth
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve student engagement and well-being
  • Conduct individual and group counseling as needed
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and Section 504 Plans
  • Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and conflict resolution within the school
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and legal guidelines
