Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the school community as a contract Social Worker, supporting students emotional well-being and academic success. This role is centered near Edwardsville, IL, and offers an exciting blend of engagement, advocacy, and meaningful relationships within area schools.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct counseling and support services to students facing a variety of emotional, social, or behavioral challenges
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to create strategies that foster a supportive school environment
  • Managing a diverse caseload, working across multiple schools and grade levels as needed
  • Conducting needs assessments to identify hurdles impacting student performance and recommending appropriate interventions
  • Facilitating small groups or classroom presentations on topics such as social skills, resilience, and coping strategies
  • Serving as a vital resource for crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records in compliance with regulations
  • Promoting an inclusive atmosphere for students with varying abilities and backgrounds

Preferred candidates will possess:

  • Valid and current licensure as a School Social Worker
  • Previous experience in a school setting, demonstrating ability to build rapport with children and adolescents
  • Deep knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and their implementation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple responsibilities and adapting to students' evolving needs
  • Strong collaborative mindset with educators and support staff
