Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or certification as required for school social workers
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents, ideally within school environments
- Strong communication skills, adept at collaboration and rapport-building with students, families, and staff
- Capacity to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to develop and implement effective intervention plans and provide crisis support when needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide individualized support to students dealing with academic, social, or emotional challenges
- Collaborate alongside teachers, administrators, and counselors to create and implement interventions that enhance student wellbeing
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and outside agencies to connect students with community resources and services
- Lead small group or individual counseling sessions focused on social skills, coping strategies, and resilience building
- Support staff with professional development related to trauma, mental health, and social-emotional learning
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential case records in accordance with school policies
