Make an impact in the lives of K-8 students by providing essential support as a School Social Worker on a contract assignment running through late June 2027. This dynamic opportunity allows you to engage with multiple schools in the Detroit area, giving you the chance to bring your expertise to diverse student populations and truly make a difference.

Your week will be structured with a rotating schedule among several buildings, ensuring variety and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and staff in each location. You'll collaborate closely with educational teams and families to identify and address barriers to student success, fostering a positive school environment for all.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Michigan LLMSW or LMSW licensure
• Valid preliminary or professional School Social Worker (SSW) certificationthis is a must-have
• Prior experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Ability to work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for supporting K-8 students with varying needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional counseling and intervention services for K-8 students
• Case manage and monitor progress for assigned students
• Conduct assessments and collaborate on Individualized Education Plans as needed
• Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
• Support and consult with teachers and staff on student well-being and classroom strategies
