This contract opportunity, situated near Detroit, MI, runs from July 7th, 2026 to August 6th, 2026, with a consistent schedule every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am to noon. This focused, part-time role is perfect for an experienced professional with a passion for working collaboratively in educational settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted School Social Worker Certification (emergency or temporary licenses will not be considered)
- Previous experience as a School Social Worker, particularly in school-based environments
- Familiarity with intervention strategies and resources tailored for students on the autism spectrum
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, families, and students
- Ability to advocate for student needs and facilitate social-emotional development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support to students enrolled in the Autism Summer School program
- Deliver targeted interventions and counseling to foster positive peer interactions and coping skills
- Collaborate with program staff and families to develop and implement student-centered support plans
- Document progress and maintain detailed records in alignment with program and school district guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment for all students
