Job Description
A school-based Social Worker position is available for the 2026-2027 school year in Des Plaines, IL. This onsite contract role involves supporting students in grades K-5 with a caseload that allows meaningful impact within the school community. The position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide social work services to K-5 students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create supportive learning environments.
- Assess student needs and develop intervention plans aligned with school policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students within a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse student populations.
- Commitment to supporting student mental health and wellbeing.
