This opportunity is for a dedicated Social Worker specializing in school settings, serving an elementary caseload from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The position is contract-based and requires onsite presence to effectively address the needs of students within the school environment. Located in Des Plaines, IL, this role offers a structured 37.5-hour workweek and a chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners emotional and social well-being.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
- Experience supporting K-5 students within an educational setting
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and external resources to provide comprehensive support
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
- Providing direct counseling and support to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborating with school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Connecting families with community resources and services to support student success
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies
