Bring your expertise in school-based social work or counseling to an impactful contract assignment as a Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) Social Worker/Counselor in a dynamic educational environment. This opportunity serves K-12 students in general education and operates during the 2026-2027 academic year (August 17 - June 11), offering 35 hours per week onsite.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Full State of Michigan licensure as a Social Worker (LMSW) or Counselor (LPC); limited licensure (LLMSW/LLPC) considered with the expectation of obtaining full credentials.
- MDE Social Work Approval required.
- Previous experience within public school settings or related agencies preferred; familiarity with collaborative team processes highly advantageous.
- Experience or comfort working with MTSS frameworks and collaborative student support teams.
- Caseload includes students across K-12; must be comfortable on site.
- Official university transcripts and proof of licensure required for consideration.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate data and recommend evidence-based interventions to school teams and administrators.
- Design and implement tiered interventions in collaboration with educators.
- Provide case management, consultative support, and intervention services (individual/group) for students and families.
- Assist staff with data collection, analysis, and modification of student support strategies.
- Participate in key meetings: student support teams, MTSS, and parent conferences.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Empower families to engage fully in their children's educational journeys; coordinate multifaceted support services as needed.
