This role empowers you to collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators, ensuring that each students social and emotional needs are met.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid and current state social work license or credential (appropriate for school settings)
- Prior experience in a school or educational environment, preferably working with diverse student populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with staff and families
- Ability to assess and respond to student needs, including crisis intervention and case management
- Knowledge of IEP process, special education requirements, and community resources
- Compassionate, organized, and dedicated to fostering student growth and well-being
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students facing social, emotional, or behavioral issues
- Act as a resource to teachers and staff, supporting classroom management and student engagement
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor student support plans
- Communicate and collaborate with families and outside agencies to arrange resources and interventions
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, in compliance with district and ethical standards
- Facilitate workshops or classroom presentations on social-emotional learning topics
- Respond to crisis situations and contribute positive leadership within the school community
