A full-time School Social Worker opportunity is available in Cranston, RI, serving a high school caseload. This contract position offers the chance to support students in an educational setting, providing essential social services that promote student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans.
- Assess student needs and coordinate community resources to support academic achievement and personal development.
- Address crisis situations, including risk assessments and safety planning.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of student support programs.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Rhode Island.
- Proven experience working with high school-aged students, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development, mental health issues, and community resources.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
