Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid School Social Worker license or eligibility in Michigan
  • Proven experience in providing social work services in educational settings
  • Skilled in assessment, crisis intervention, and individualized planning
  • Strong understanding of local and state educational and child welfare regulations
  • Ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Organizational prowess and adaptability to shifting priorities
  • Renewal placement experience preferred

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student needs
  • Implement interventions to address barriers to learning and support academic and social-emotional growth
  • Facilitate collaboration among students, families, faculty, and outside agencies
  • Lead individual and group counseling sessions for students
  • Develop and maintain student progress records, documenting interventions and outcomes
  • Act as an advocate for students, ensuring equitable access to supports and resources
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of individualized educational plans (IEPs), where appropriate
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives for fostering a positive, inclusive climate
