Job Description
Bring your passion for supporting students to a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Social Worker in a Special Education district setting. This position serves K-12 students across the extended school year (ESY) and normal school year (NSY) calendars, providing a chance to make a significant impact in young lives.
The upcoming contract runs from June 30, 2026, through June 11, 2027. During ESY (6/30/20268/6/2026), youll work up to 25 hours per week, then transition to a schedule of up to 35 hours weekly for the NSY (8/17/20266/11/2027).
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working as a Social Worker within K-12 schools, especially in special education environments
Current school certification (310) or eligibility with appropriate supervision in place
Comprehensive understanding of special education requirements, IEPs, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families
Compassion, adaptability, and an ability to foster trust and support in diverse school communities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individual and group counseling services to students
Collaborate with school teams on IEP development and implementation
Support students emotional and social well-being, identifying resources as needed
Serve as a liaison among families, school personnel, and outside agencies
Develop strategies to promote positive behavior and support academic achievement
Contribute to staff training and help cultivate a supportive school culture
