As a valued member of an intermediate school, youll work onsite throughout the school year, partnering with caring professionals and making a real difference in the lives of children with diverse needs.
What sets this opportunity apart is the focus on meaningful, direct support for a caseload serving students in grades 3-5spanning both general populations and those with disabilities (totaling 250-300 students). Youll implement targeted interventions and work closely with educators and families to foster student well-being.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Social Worker License
- State or district-specific credentials (such as PEL) as required
- Experience working in a school setting or with youth populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassionate, adaptable nature and commitment to student advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling, intervention services, and crisis support to students
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to address academic and behavioral concerns
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services provided
- Support school-wide initiatives for positive climate and student engagement
