Qualifications & Experience:

• Active New Mexico Social Worker license required
• Valid NMPED certificate required
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is strongly preferred
• Ability to support elementary-aged students and their families with empathy and resourcefulness
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient at collaborating on multidisciplinary teams and building positive relationships
• Knowledge of best practices for school social work and interventions for elementary students

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct individual and group counseling to elementary students facing personal, familial, or academic challenges
• Serve as a resource and advocate for students social-emotional needs
• Partner closely with educators, parents, and community resources to coordinate care and support
• Conduct assessments, write reports, and document services according to school and state requirements
• Offer crisis intervention and assist in developing behavior intervention and support plans
• Contribute to prevention efforts and school-wide programs fostering a positive climate
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
