Make a meaningful impact on students lives by providing essential support as a contract school social worker in the Cambridge, MA area. This onsite position is available immediately and runs through early January 2027 to cover a maternity leave. Youll have the opportunity to connect with high school students, offering guidance and resources that promote wellness, academic success, and resilience.

In this full-time role (37.5 hours per week), youll manage a caseload of approximately 35 students ranging from 9th through 12th grade. Your expertise will help address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, fostering a supportive environment for positive student development.

Qualifications:

• Valid Massachusetts school social worker certificate required
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Adept at collaborating with educators, families, and administrators
• Commitment to empowering diverse student populations

Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and case management for assigned students
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to identify and address students needs
• Develop and implement individualized plans to support students academic and social well-being
• Maintain accurate and confidential records aligned with district and ethical guidelines
• Serve as an advocate for students and facilitate access to community resources
• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, offering expert recommendations
• Support school-wide initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
