Make a positive impact working directly with students as a contract Social Worker in a supportive school environment near Burleson, TX. This position is ideal for a compassionate and resourceful individual who is dedicated to promoting students social, emotional, and academic success through evidence-based interventions and support.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure/certification to practice as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience providing social work services in a K-12 setting preferred
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors, families, and other support staff
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution abilities
- Deep understanding of student development, trauma-informed care, and community resources
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Conduct student assessments and develop individualized plans
- Collaborate with faculty and parents to create supportive strategies and interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute social-emotional insights and recommendations
- Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
- Connect families with community resources for food, housing, mental health, and other needs
- Deliver crisis intervention and response services as needed
- Promote a safe, positive school culture through advocacy and education
