Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by providing essential support to high school students through a school-based social work opportunity. This contract position is based onsite and serves high school students with IEPs at two different schools in the Bosque Farms, NM area. With a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours, you'll have the chance to connect with students, families, and fellow educators, working collaboratively to foster student growth, well-being, and academic success.

Qualifications:

  • Active New Mexico School Social Worker (SSW) license required
  • Experience working with high school-aged students, preferably those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with New Mexico school district compliance and requirements
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school personnel

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing behavioral and emotional support to high school students with IEPs
  • Collaborating with special education teams, teachers, and families to create and implement intervention plans
  • Conducting assessments to identify student needs and progress
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations
  • Delivering individual and group counseling sessions as needed
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with state and district guidelines
