Qualifications:
- Valid Social Worker license in Michigan (LMSW or LLMSW)
- Experience working as a Social Worker within a school setting preferred
- Deep understanding of child and adolescent development
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to navigate and mediate various student and family circumstances
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations impacting school social work
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop interventions and support plans
- Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community agencies
- Assist in crisis intervention and development of behavioral strategies
- Document and maintain accurate student records in compliance with school and legal guidelines
- Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
- Offer guidance on social/emotional learning initiatives within the school
