Job Description

A full-time School Social Worker position is available for a district-wide role in Benton Harbor, MI. This onsite opportunity operates under a W-2 contract and welcomes travel professionals interested in making a meaningful impact on students' social-emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to students individually and in small groups.
  • Conduct assessments to identify social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting learning.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans collaboratively with staff and families.
  • Support students with IEPs by delivering social work services aligned with their goals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to eligibility and service recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other support personnel to foster a positive school climate.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, restorative practices, and conflict resolution support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Full or Temporary Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
  • Strong knowledge of MTSS, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning approaches.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
