School Social Worker Belen, NM

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker for a school-based opportunity in Belen, New Mexico. This is a great opportunity for a social work professional who is passionate about supporting students' mental health, social-emotional development, and academic success.

Position Highlights

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns

  • Assess student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies

  • Support students experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, family difficulties, and other personal concerns

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary school teams

  • Participate in IEP meetings and support students receiving special education services

  • Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and behavioral support

  • Connect students and families with community resources and additional support services

  • Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress

Qualifications

  • Appropriate New Mexico School Social Worker credential or authorization required

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred

  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred

  • Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and social-emotional interventions

  • Strong communication, counseling, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
