Job Title: School-Based Social Worker
Location: Los Chavez, New Mexico
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contracted role (2026/2027 School Year)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School-Based Social Worker to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. This role is vital in fostering a safe and supportive school environment, addressing barriers to learning, and connecting students and families with essential resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community organizations
- Assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Support attendance improvement initiatives and dropout prevention efforts
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 plan meetings as needed
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid New Mexico Social Work license (LMSW or LCSW preferred)
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or community setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive approaches
