Job Description

Step into a meaningful role serving students by providing school social work services across multiple educational settings. This opportunity offers a fulfilling contract position located near Belding, MI, where you'll make a tangible impact in both elementary and middle school environments.

In this assignment, you'll support students academic, social, and emotional growth. Youll work on-site, collaborating with dedicated staff and educators across three buildingsserving grades 3-5 in one location, K-5 in another, and an additional nonpublic school. The manageable caseload ranges from 43 to 48 students, allowing for individualized and focused support. This position runs from mid-August 2026 through mid-May 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
  • Experience working within K-5 and 3-5 grade levels preferred
  • Adept at building rapport with diverse student populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect social work services to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student success and well-being
  • Consult with teachers, administration, and families to create supportive learning environments
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
