Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker
  • Experience delivering counseling services in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of special education processes, behavioral intervention strategies, and crisis management
  • Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Passion for advocacy and empowering students from diverse backgrounds

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and small group counseling sessions to address students social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to assess student needs and develop intervention plans
  • Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, providing expertise on social and emotional supports
  • Serve as a liaison connecting families to community resources and social services
  • Develop and implement preventative programs and workshops that promote a safe, inclusive school climate
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
  • Respond to acute crises and provide support as needed
