Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work or related field
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school environment
- Strong communication and counseling skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and community agencies
- Comfortable managing caseloads and documentation responsibilities independently
- Compassionate approach and a commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address social, behavioral, and emotional concerns
- Liaise with teachers and administrators to assess student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies
- Engage with families to provide resources, guidance, and crisis intervention as necessary
- Maintain thorough documentation of student interactions, interventions, and progress
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs that promote positive school climate and mental health awareness
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate comprehensive care plans
- Advocate for students welfare, ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities
