A reputable school in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to provide essential support to students in grades K-5. This contract position requires onsite presence and offers a structured 37.5-hour workweek. The role focuses on addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs to enhance student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to K-5 students, including counseling, crisis intervention, and case management
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop individualized support plans
- Conduct assessments to identify students social and emotional needs
- Facilitate group sessions and workshops to promote positive social skills and mental health awareness
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement is required
- Experience working in an educational setting with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently under general supervision
