This full-time contract position for a licensed Michigan School Social Worker is set to begin August 25th and continue through mid-October, providing essential coverage during a maternity leave. Youll work Monday through Friday, offering your expertise to students with a variety of behavioral and academic needs.
This role will have you rotating between different school locations, delivering support tailored to each school community. Youll collaborate with educational staff, develop effective interventions, and help foster a positive learning environment for students who benefit from your guidance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a current Michigan School Social Worker license
- Confident working independently (no clinical supervision available)
- Previous experience in school settings preferred, especially with diverse behavioral and academic needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and meet students where they are
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct social-emotional interventions and counseling for students
- Consult with educators and families to support classroom and home environments
- Document services, preparing reports that meet state and district guidelines
- Assist with crisis intervention and prevention plans when needed
