Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role runs from ASAP through June 2027, offering 35-37.5 hours each week, Monday through Friday. The position serves a diverse student population and may involve working across multiple school sites, providing valuable support to students' communication development.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain one
- Prior experience or strong interest in working within school settings, preferably with K-12 students
- Familiarity with implementing written treatment plans under the supervision of an SLP
- Adaptability for a dynamic, multi-site caseload
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to K-12 students as directed by supervising SLPs
- Assist with screenings, assessments, and preparation of materials for therapy sessions
- Document student progress accurately and maintain relevant records
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate in meetings or consultations as needed
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive educational environment
