Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license or certification, meeting Alaska state requirements
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or clinical setting
- Familiarity with implementing speech-language therapy plans, as developed by a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to maintaining accurate records and upholding confidentiality
- Ability to adapt to diverse needs and settings within the school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy activities
- Monitor and document student progress toward goals, sharing updates with the supervising SLP
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and communication
- Prepare therapy materials and adapt resources to align with students needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success in and outside the classroom
