A part-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract position is based in a therapeutic day school with small class sizes, all conveniently located in a single building near Washington, IL. The student population is diverse, ranging from PreK to 22 years old, and includes individuals with primary diagnoses such as autism, as well as some with emotional and intellectual disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois SLPA license required
- Previous experience in a school or therapeutic setting preferred
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and positive communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Position Details:
- Approximately 15 hours per week, providing direct therapy and support
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students, targeting individualized goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with teachers and related service providers
- Engage with families and staff to promote generalization of communication skills
