Make a difference in the educational journey of students as an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Work in a supportive school environment, collaborating closely with educators and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to help students develop essential speech, language, and communication skills. This contract role places you in a dynamic setting where your specialized knowledge directly impacts each childs confidence and learning outcomes.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid SLPA licensure (California)
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Solid understanding of speech-language therapy techniques
- Ability to implement therapy plans under the supervision of an SLP
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families
- Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy activities as designed by supervising SLPs, adapting to individual student needs
- Assist in conducting screenings and assessments to support the SLPs evaluations
- Provide both individual and small group interventions in accordance with students therapy plans
- Document students progress, collect data, and contribute insights for IEP meetings
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support student goals
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with school protocols and ethical standards
