Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a collaborative and inclusive school environment near Sunnyvale, CA. This full-time position is ideal for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) with a commitment to helping children thrive academically and socially. Work with students from kindergarten through 8th grade across two welcoming campuses, engaging primarily with mild-moderate needs, higher-functioning students, and those on the social cognition spectrum.
Your role will emphasize practical interventions that foster communication skills and social thinking in an inclusion-focused setting. Youll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule and the chance to make a direct impact, supported by strong supervision and a positive working culture.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license required
- School-based and/or healthcare SLPA experience preferred
- Experience working with mild to moderate student needs in an inclusion setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt approaches for different developmental stages and social-cognitive profiles
- Collaborative, flexible attitude to work with a dynamic staff and diverse student body
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services and support to students K-8
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to implement social thinking strategies
- Document student progress and assist with assessments as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment in both individual and group settings
- Communicate effectively with staff and, on occasion, with parents
- Actively participate in supervision provided on site
