Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associate's degree from an accredited SLPA program
- Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Alaska
- Experience supporting speech-language therapy services in school settings preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to students and staff
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist speech-language pathologists in providing therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders
- Carry out therapy activities and treatment plans developed by supervising SLPs
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Support classroom teachers with strategies to facilitate communication and participation
- Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of students
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress discussions as needed
