A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support early childhood education in a school setting located in Simi Valley, CA. This contract position involves working directly with preschool and kindergarten students, providing essential speech and language support services to enhance their communication skills and overall development.
Qualifications and Certifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) credential or certification
- Experience working within school environments preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators and therapists
Position Details:
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week
- Caseload comprised primarily of early childhood (prek and kindergarten) students
- Responsibilities include assisting licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering therapy services, conducting screenings, maintaining accurate records, and supporting student progress
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Collect data and monitor student progress
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers and staff
- Assist with screenings and evaluations as needed
